The data center, the computer room, the network closet — the entire IT network — are at pivotal stages in their evolution. It's no longer just about managing growth; it's about managing uncertainty, density and capacity. What's driving this? Unpredictable growth in capacity. Consolidation of critical facilities. Convergence of voice, video and data. Processor power that doubles every two years. Enterprise-wide standardization.

Epic was founded first and foremost as an advanced data networking solution provider. We believe in building deep relationships with the industry's leading vendors and becoming true experts in their products. To that end, Epic invests heavily in the training of our sales and technical staff to stay abreast of each vendor’s latest advances. We know you can trust these solutions to run your business, because we use them to run ours.

Business data networks become more complicated every day as new applications, threats and technologies continue to emerge. The same applications that give us unprecedented access and productivity improvements also can lead to unprecedented security or reliability issues if not properly implemented. You need a company like Epic that will partner with you to understand your business and design the solution that is right for you. In most cases, our recommendations are built upon the products from these leading vendors:

Networking Hardware

Epic’s routing, wireless networking, and security solutions are built primarily upon Cisco’s product lines. But when it comes to data switches, Epic believes that Hewlett-Packard presently offers the best value for an enterprise solution and prefer to work with Linksys branded solutions in a smaller business setting.

Servers

In terms of new server recommendations, Epic strongly recommends IBM branded servers. First, we believe that their solutions continue to be engineered to the highest standards. Second, we have first hand experience with their support and warranty claims departments and IBM continues to provide good support. Third, Epic believes in servicing what it sells and is therefore an IBM authorized service center. If you purchase and IBM solution through Epic, you can rest assured of a seamless support relationship between Epic and the manufacturer.

Operating Systems and Applications

In terms of operating systems, Epic maintains multiple MCSE resources who constantly train on and support Microsoft’s servers and application suites. In addition to Windows, Epic is experienced in Linux, Unix, Novell Netware, and AS/400 among others.
