About the Proactive Prevent Plan
A data network and its various components are a lot like a car in many ways. You
wouldn't dream of buying a car and never changing its oil, rotating its tires or
going in for a warranty repair. Similarly, a data network has similar routine maintenance
procedures that should be followed but all too often are not.
Epic's Proactive Prevent plan starts with all of the benefits of the Proactive Alert
plan and adds preventative maintenance processes to it. Based upon the type of equipment
being covered, Epic will perform periodic preventative maintenance procedures designed
to keep your systems secure and functioning optimally.
Items such as application patches and security updates, hard disk integrity checks,
and hard disk defragmentation need to be performed on each and every workstation
on a regular and on-going basis. For servers, you also need to look at things such
as the tape backup (i.e. doing a test restore), the log files for key server applications,
disk space utilization and data growth rates. You also need to consider new software
updates for your firewalls, routers, and switches that could fix lingering problems
you have been experiencing or plug security holes you did not even know you had.
Epic takes all of these critical maintenance tasks and puts them into a structured
schedule that is designed to ensure your success. We monitor the maintenance status
of each covered device and perform the right maintenance task at the right time
to your equipment functioning optimally.
